WHO IS A FRIEND?

BE A FRIEND

Why do you call a person a friend? Do you know that there are different people in your life that you call them friends but in a real sense they are not your friends?

For a person to be your friend I think they must have some qualities that can make you think of friendship.

Someone today asked me Who is a friend?

A friend is someone you can be alone with and have nothing to do and not be able to think of anything to say and be comfortable in the silence.

A friend is someone with whom you dare to be yourself.

A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway. Is he who will tell your faults in private.

I am sure Everybody needs one essential friend.

But Oh! The blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearless on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.
